Ha Giang loop – Trekking – Homestay – Motorbike tour 5D4N

True to our promise of authenticity of being guided only by the locals; choosing to travel with us means you will go off  the touristy track You will travel past clay houses of the Hmong people who are of chinese origins, into the beautiful countryside while being waved at and greeted by the school kids.  Some of the roads we travel are not on the map.  We travel along these roads subject to the weather - if it doesn’t rain

Day 1: Limousine bus Hanoi - Ha Giang.

In the morning the limousine bus will pick you up from your hotel at 6:30a.m, and you will go directly to Ha Giang. The bus trip is super comfortable; don't forget to feast your eyes along the way; rolling greenfields, mountain ranges and the occasional kids waving at you from the side of the road. When arriving at Ha Giang, youwill will break for lunch. After Lunch, Bambi Travel will bring the group to your homestead at Thon Tha village. You will be staying right in the middle of the Tay’s settlement.. After settling in, you can explore the village and its surroundings. Including the beautiful rice terrace and the nearby Ha Thanh village Waterfall. The homestead where you are staying  backs onto the mountain. Imagine getting up in the morning, breathing in the fresh mountain air, while being overwhelmed by the endless green of the rice terraces.  Then there is fresh home cooked Tay cuisine, lovingly prepared by the friendly team of chefs, mum, son and wife. True to their culture, you will dine with the host family and share a cup of corn wine.   

Day 2: Thon Tha- Khuoi My - Lung Vai- Ha Thanh – Thon Tha

Today we will trek 17km.  Starting from Thon Tha to Lung Vai and then back to Ha Thanh village. This trek offers unique views of the countryside of Vietnam, including rice terraces, stunning waterfalls. Listen out for the mystery bells in the bushes! Our friendly goats and billies, raised by the locals.  If you wish to have lunch cooked by your friendly tour guide, please let us know. Immerse yourself with nature whilst we prepare your hot lunch. After lunch, we will continue with the journey. We visit the Shan Tuyet tea field while also witnessing the daily life of Dao and the Tay ethnic groups. The day will finish at Ha Giang city at 5pm. Refresh and come out for yet another delicious meal, and enjoy the friendly faces. 

Day 3:Ha Giang- Heaven Gate- Quan Ba pass-yen Minh - Vuong palace - Dong Van

Finally, the exciting trip begins. Today we will ride 145 kms, by motorbike.  This is it! Along the way,  we will meet the Mong people and observe their lifestyle. There will be many unique photo opportunities and you will have enough time to stop and enjoy the scenery. We will ride past villages and houses, which quickly disappear to be  replaced with greeneries. After a couple of hours' ride, our first stop is the amazing The Heaven's Gate which is 1500m above sea level and high into the clouds. The view is breathtaking. Leaving this behind, we ride on to  Quan Ba where you can see the famous twin mountains.  After that, we stop for lunch in Yen Minh.  After lunch we will resume our drive back down to Ha Giang. Our next stop will be the historical The Vuong palace, amazingly well maintained. The palace, also known as the opium Palace, is the home of the former Kings of the native people, the Vuong family who reigned from1865 to 1947. It was recognised by the government as a major cultural heritage site in 1993 Day 3 will end at Dong Van, 5pm. You will be in a homestay with a local family for the night. do expect the same warm friendly treatment from your host. Dinner will be served immediately after the shower. After dinner, you can rest in your own comfortable bed or  you can join me for a hot cup of tea to reminisce about our day

Day 4 : Dong Van - Ma Pi Leng pass- Meo Vac- Du Gia.

Today we will drive through the Ma Pi Leng Pass, which is considered the "King" of Vietnam's passes. The pass’s first 20 km is along Happiness Road, which was constructed through the combined effort from the indigenous people and is known as the Romance Road.  In Meo Vac you can see one of the most stunning landscapes in the country! Steep mountain ranges rise into the sky. The mountains look like cat ears! On beautiful days, one can be caught between the majestic heaven and earth with gentle mist rolling from the high mountains down to the fiercely green Nho Que river. No matter the angle, the scenery offers a unique look for once in a lifetime selfies that will no doubt rouse jealousy from the people at home. If you come around springtime, you will be filled with the natural beauty of peaches and plum blossoms. No matter when you come, Meo Vat promises  unforgettable experiences! 

After arriving in Du Gia, you will have lunch with a family of Tay people. Where you can sample the unique local cuisine. If you are lucky, you might get to try the home grown tomatoes with a unique flavour. At the end of the day, we have planned a well deserved surprise for you. We will bike to Ngoc Long, where we will row our boats to a secret hideout. You will not be able to resist jumping into the private oasis for a cool dip. Imagine sinking and being as one with nature after a day of wonders. Feeling refreshed, we will take you back to the warm welcome of our homestay family.

We have carefully selected a home stay to reflect the life of the Tay’s people for your enjoyment. Their lives are at one with mother nature. The food that they have lovingly prepared are either home grown or from the mountains. 

Day 5: Du Gia -Du Gia waterfall- Duong Thuong - Thuan Hoa- Ha Giang 

After breakfast, we say goodbye to our beautiful Homestay family. At Ngoc long, we will row our boats to a secret hideout where you will not be able to resist jumping into the private oasis for a cool dip.  Lunch will be served at Mau Due. We then tour to the waterfall once again where you can enjoy the refreshing feeling of the cool water  for the last time before parting. 

Chilled from the swim, we will continue on our way. The panoramic view of the endless mountain ranges will be imprinted in your memories for years to come. As we bike past  Duong Thuong the magic that nature, along with the grandiose of the ranges will allow you to truly synergise with vietnamese natural beauty. It will stay with you forever.   We then ride back to Ha Giang in time for lunch. After lunch, we will complete our journey. At 4 or 5 pm our guides will take you back to the chill atmosphere of our homestay in Thon Tha for a  shower and relax!

The tour group will be provided the option to stay in Ha Giang for another night and leave in the morning. Or you can travel on the Sleeping Bus back to Ha Noi.
